A new language awaits new words to be collectively forged

Cast iron, cables and pulleys, mechanical keys and 200kg of steel shot, 2019

A foray into a kinetic installation invites us to address our relationship with the word. A much needed communal milling of language. A new alphabet takes shape in the absence of an existing language in which meaning is slowly forged into a new, unspoken dialogue.

Commissioned by Ithra (King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture) for their permanent collection.
